Follow widgets not found on site or on Dashboard "Appearances" – "Widgets"

  The Subscribe & Follow button at the top of my web site does not work for outside users, nor is there a Follow button on the bottom of my site. There is no widget to be had on my ‘Appearances” – “Widgets” page either.

  That could be the case if your are not referring to a free hosted WordPress.com blog. However, as there is no URL linked to your username and you did not post the URL for the blog in question we cannot confirm. Please post the URL for the blog you refer to now and know we always require a URL in order to even begin to help any blogger here.

  Note also that you must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard at > Apppearance > Widgets

  I knew I forgot to do something before I hit ‘send’! The site is http://www.quippyqueer.com

  I’ve since managed to add a ‘Follow My Blog’ on the left side of the front page. I was able to do this after clicking through my Jetpack offerings – which I’d not done before. Still, friends have said that link does not wor for them and they cannot ‘follow’ the blog. They also keep trying the ‘Subscribe & Follow’ link at the top, which I guess is only for WP users (how confusing, no?).

  Anyway, your help is greatly(!) appreciated, Timethief.
  Oh, and I was logged in under ‘Admin’ as you likely gathered.

  Hi brooklynct, sure, timethief was right, your blog is a self-hosted wordpress.org install site, so you will be able to find help on the wordpress.org support forums. (You’ll need to create a new username there, if you don’t have one already.)
