  How can I get connected to my Facebook account? Nothing I do works.

  Make sure you’re following this guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#facebook-pages

  Please note that Facebook’s API will only allow us to connect to Facebook Pages, not Profiles.

  Thanks. I’ve done that and all but Facebook connected. It takes me back to the Login page but never connects. Each time the Banner at the top gives me the same message to follow the directions to Publicize which is what I’ve done … a few times.

  Not the permission URL. What is the URL of the public Facebook page so that I can see the page you’re trying to connect to?

  Unfortunately, the problem is that’s a Facebook Profile, which as mentioned earlier Facebook will not allow us to connect to.

  You’d have to have a Facebook Page, like https://www.facebook.com/WordPresscom/ or https://www.facebook.com/jetpackme/

  I’m really new to this — setting up a blog. I think you mean I need to set up a new Facebook account with WordPress say, but then get a message to my network about the blog site. Is there an automatic way to do that?

  No, there are two different types of Facebook accounts:

  1. Facebook Profile: This is what most individuals have to share things with their friends and talk about themselves or the world etc.

  2. Facebook Page: This is what most businesses have to reach customers. There are no Friends, only subscribers.

  You have a Facebook Profile, and due to some recent changes on Facebook’s end, they will no longer allow us to auto-post to Facebook Profiles.

  You’re welcome to create a Facebook Page of course, but they’re a bit out of place for individuals, unless you’re a celebrity with millions of fans.

  Personally, mine is a Profile too, and I just manually share my new posts there like any other link.
