Follower count

Hi,
My follower count is 262, but on the Reader it is 321. While I share on social media, I am not set up on Publicize. Why is there a difference in the count and which one is correct? Thanks!

I had a closer look at your site on the reader and noticed 321 followers, which is the correct number.
Followers are divided in your Stats by the manner in which they’ve chosen to follow your site. Even if they don’t have blogs, they can still follow your site. Some folks decide to get email notifications, some follow WordPress.com sites in a Reader (either ours, or an outside RSS feed reader), and other still simply follow a site to support it, but have opted not to receive notifications. If you look into the list of followers and email followers, you might the difference might close up for the readers on your Reader. Also to add one more point, from your Dashboard if you go to
MySites->Stats->Insights
On the right center part of the page, you would see a section “Followers Total” which would give you the details further.Hope this helps.
