Follower Count Not Updating

  As you can see from the title, I’m having issues with my follower count updating. I have Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and LinkedIn attached to my WordPress, but only Twitter followers show up (an outdated number, too).

  I’ve seen in previous threads that it’s advised you remove these accounts and re-add them, but these people asking for troubleshooting help said that only removes the number completely, never to return. Plus, it would be discouraging to learn that this needs to be done regularly in order to keep updating your follower count.

  Any help would be appreciated.

  Hi there,

  I’ve tried resetting your follower counts from this side, but it’s not working, which means there’s probably something wrong with the Publicize connections. It doesn’t look like you have tried reconnecting, so please do that. Make sure that you disconnect those services both in your WordPress.com dashboard AND on those sites’ settings pages before reconnecting.

  This isn’t something you should need to do regularly – in over three years on WordPress.com I’ve never had to do it – but sometimes the connection breaks and this the only way to fix it is to create a new connection.

  I’m glad to hear that. If you notice the counts start falling behind again, let us know, as then we might need to investigate why the connection keeps breaking.
