Follower not showing in Followers List

I recently received an official-looking, formatted email notifying me of a new follower. It is a fellow-blogger I recognize. Oddly, the email notification is in Spanish, but when I log into my site and go to my Followers list and refresh, I don’t see them list under Followers or Email followers.
Has anyone else reported a similar issue? Am I missing something?
I am on the free WordPress.com plan using the Twenty Seventeen theme.

You can also use: https://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=stats
*replace NAME_OF_BLOG in that URL with the actual name of your site.
Note that the title there includes Publicize followers from social networks. https://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/

However, the follower I am looking for is not listed there either. the name of the blogger I am expecting to see is “Veggietravellingteacher” and I just received the notification yesterday, so I expect them near the top of the sorted list.

Hi @travelinspireconnect, can you post the username or email of the follower so we can look them up? The email won’t appear here if you format it regularly. We automatically redact email addresses so that only staff can see them.

Veggietravellingteacher is the name of the user/blog I am expecting to see (at the top of the list because I just received the notification yesterday).

Darcie suggested that the user could have followed then unfollowed. I guess that would explain it. Any other possible explanations?

Hmm, I don’t see an account with that name, nor do I see one associated with the address on that contact form. Was there an email address on your notification?
