Follower numbers seems off
-
Okay, not sure how this works, but I’m trying to find out why my site went from having 62 followers to over one thousand in a few minutes. I don’t think I actually have 1,000 following, and if so, how is this possible within minutes. Does anyone know? How is this calculated?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Your wordpress.com subscribers to http://michadam.wordpress.com/
are found here https://wordpress.com/my-stats/?blog_subscribersNote that the total there includes Publicize followers from social networks. https://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/ So if you set up Publicize that could explain the numbers.
Your email only subscribers are here https://wordpress.com/my-stats/?blog_subscribers&type=email

The followers count includes your Facebook and Twitter followers in that total. Have you connected your blog to any social media services? This might explain the hike in followers.

I was wondering if that was the case, although it happened so quickly that it’s as if I pressed some special button. The numbers weren’t including that before and then all of a sudden…boom! When you say social media services, what do you mean? I’ve connected my blog to my twitter and facebook…meaning, when a blog goes out, it goes to these places, but I was doing that before as well. Also when I post a blog and it goes to facebook it seems to randomly select a photo and it’s not centered so it looks terrible, and when I put my blog link on my email (hotmail) it shows a spot where a photo would go from the link, but it’s blank. So I’ve had these confusing things as well happen.

I mean what is says at the link I posted above. Note the listed social networks at https://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/

We have no control over the images that Twitter, Facebook or any other social networks chooses to display or when they choose to flush their image caches. We really only send them the URL of the post, and they hunt through that for the excerpt and images to include.

We have no control over your email client settings. Some display images and some do not. Check with hotmail support.
