Follower receives multiple notifications for single post

Someone following my blog made the following comment:
“When I originally commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get three emails with the same comment.
Is there any way you can remove me from that service? Thank you!”What do I tell him?

Could you let me know the username or email address of the subscriber that’s having trouble? Please note, the email will appear as “redacted” in the forum thread, but it will be visible to staff members.

Hi!
I checked the email address mentioned in the comment, and it doesn’t look like that email address has any subscriptions (comments or posts) at WordPress.com. Perhaps they used a different email address originally. If so, we’ll need that email address in order to unsubscribe them.
Alternatively, they should see the option to unsubscribe at the bottom of every email. That’s probably the best route. Can you ask them to use the Unsubscribe functions at the bottom of the email as shown here?
