I have 3 WP blogs (payopo, wyblypaintings, yakadance). I had my yakadance and wyblypaintings followers transferred to payopo because I’m going to merge all 3 blogs into one new one and I thought this would be a necessary step. But now I realize the followers have been moved, not copied, so wyblypaintings and yakadance no longer have any followers at all which is not all too useful (:=). 1) Is it possible to transfer the followers back to their original blog? 2) When I create my new blog, I’ll have 3 rubriques or categories in it, one for wyblypaintings, one for yakadance, the third for payopo. This new blog will be hosted at Bluehost. The questions: 2) (how) can new followers choose which category (ies) to follow in the new blog? Can the existing ones be transferred to my new blog so they are allocated to the correct category in the new blog? (ie, those which are now following yakadance should be transferred to the rubrique yakadance in the new blog, etc..). Thanks for your answers.

Hi,
I’ll answer each question separately for you:
- Is it possible to transfer the followers back to their original blog? Unfortunately no. When followers are migrated, there is not a way to selectively migrate followers or to undo a migration.
- With the WordPress.com following system, there is not a way to selectively follow only a category. There are some other third-party services that you can use with a WordPress.org site (MailChimp comes to mind), which allow you to split up subscribers onto different “segments” of a list and create campaigns for each segment based on different RSS feeds (which each category does have it’s own RSS feed).
Thanks for using WordPress.com and please let me know if you have any additional questions. Cheers!
