  I created a give a way on my page for new readers who begin following me. A couple of people have emailed me to let me know their excitement and I have realized they are not showing up as followers on my site stats. What am I doing wrong?

  If they do not have a WordPress account, they need to confirm the subscription. They will not show up as your followers until they do this. Maybe wait a day and then email them back. Maybe they misunderstood your rules and didn’t realize they actually have to sign up to follow and bookmarked you instead. I’ve had quite a few people say they will start following me and ended up bookmarking my site. I know they come back often, even though they do not comment or anything.
