followers

I was looking through my list of followers and noticed that some have deleted or removed their blog/wordpress account. Is there any way to remove these individuals from my list of followers so that my numbers more accurately reflect reality?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi BJ,

Currently, there isn’t a way for you as the owner of a site to remove a follower. Blog subscriptions can only be managed on the follower side, not the blog owner side.

However, could you point me to a username on your subscriber list that appears deleted? User accounts can’t be deleted so I’m curious what this would look like. If a user removes their WordPress.com site, the URL would be removed, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’ve cancelled their account.

I’ve got at least 40-50 or so inactive followers. For example, the gravatar: http://en.gravatar.com/fxfactor has been deleted and the associated wordpress site: http://onlinemoney.wordpress.com/ both no longer exist. I can say with some confidence that this was not a true follower and is certainly not following me now. There should be some way for me to delete it.

    Another one:
    http://en.gravatar.com/rosemcnab
    http://rosethebordercollie.wordpress.com/

The site has been deleted and the gravatar no longer exists. There should be a way for me to remove them from my list of followers.

    Hey BJ,

Thanks for the feedback. Both of those user accounts still exist on WordPress.com although their Gravatar may no longer exist and their site may be deleted.

Currently, there isn’t a way for users to delete followers, but we’re exploring some sort of option that may enable this in the future. No timeline yet or guarantee this will come to fruition though!
