Can you only follow a blog if you are registered with wordpress? Friends of mine want to follow my new blog but it currently asks them to register to wordpress. Is this the only way?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No- this should not be the only way.
If your friends do not have a WordPress.com account, a button should appear in the lower right-hand corner of the WordPress.com website. A dialog box will appear after click to ask for an email address where the new blog posts can be sent.
If this button is not appearing for your friends, you may have to adjusting your email reading settings on your blog. In order to show the follow button you will go into your dashboard, to settings > reading > Follower Settings. Follower settings is all the way down towards the bottom. The sub heading is Logged out users with a check box. Make sure that this is clicked to ensure that the follow button is being displayed for logged out (or non WordPress.com) users.
