  Hi,
  I keep getting email notifications that someone started following my blog site. However, when I check my stats, it doesn’t show that follower. I have received several notifications but I don’t see these followers on my stats.
  Please advise.

  Hi Ann –

  It sounds like these are likely part of the current .outlook.com spam ring we are working on. Once they follow a site they are automatically removed on our side, they don’t make it through to your followers because they aren’t real.

  Hi,

  those might be spam followers which are automatically removed from the list of followers. There have been cases where spam followers using addresses @outlook.com would flood some websites. You can turn off the email notifications for new followers here: https://wordpress.com/me/notifications
