  My blog is not sending my followers an email update when I put up a new post. And it is not posting to Twitter or Facebook either.

  Your followers can change the notification settings themselves at http://wordpress.com/#!/read/edit/, whether they want to receive an e-mail update or not.

  Can you also try resetting the connection to Facebook and Twitter, following the instructions on this page?

  I have followers who have registered to get an email update – but it is not happening.

  Are these followers WordPress.com members? If so may we have their usernames for Staff investigation purposes please?

  1. Try flushing your FB cache but disconnect from FB first http://umairj.com/146/how-to-clear-facebook-shares-cache/
  2. Try the full reconnect procedure again detailed at http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#reconnecting-facebook including step 3 (removing the FB app), which is probably the most important step.
  3. Try the full reconnect procedure again detailed at http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#reconnecting-twitter for Twitter

  One is nickypage – she is listed as a WP follower and says she asked for email notification.
  When it didn’t seem to be working I also listed myself as a follower and I am listed under Email followers – (email visible only to moderators and staff)

  Thanks for the information. Staff can read the redacted email address though we can’t.

  What does the option ‘Get new posts by e-mail’ say next to your blog name at http://wordpress.com/#!/read/edit/ ? It should be set to either weekly, daily, or instantly.

  You only get an e-mail notification when you publish a new post. As far as I can see http://margaretmerrilees.com/ hasn’t been updated since 2011.

  I have been publishing a new post every week for the last month or so. I do that by replacing the text of the previous post. Maybe that doesn’t equal ‘publishing’??

  My new ‘post’ is the new text (renewed each week) on the lower part of my home page at http://www.margaretmerrilees.com
  The more I think about it the more it seems that’s probably not a ‘new post’ – and so no-one is notified. I need to delete the old post and put up a new one each time. (I don’t want it running on and on.)

  I see. Changing text won’t send out notification. You really need to create and publish a new post through this page in able for your followers to receive a notification.
