Followers being notified

  My follower says she was not notified of my blog post. What do I need to do differently?

  Hi there,

  Is this the user acarpen4? I see your site is private, and that’s the only user currently added as a viewer to your site.

  While they’re added as a viewer, they haven’t actually subscribed to your site – if you check your Followers section at https://wordpress.com/people/followers/amandabrahmer.wordpress.com, you’ll see you don’t have any yet.

  Being made a viewer on a site only gives you the ability to view/access the site. If you want the site to appear in your Reader feed or get email notifications you still need to take the extra step of following the site as well. So you can let that user know to visit your site, and click the Follow button in the bottom-right corner. If they want to get browser or email notifications as well, they can then configure that in the Reader, as explained here:
