Followers email

For the first time in eight years, I wasn’t automatically sent an email (because I follow my own blog) announcing my new post. I think my other followers were also not sent an email. Has some setting changed as of today (17 March 1025)?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Jeff,
Is this the post you didn’t get the email notification for?

I noticed that you original created that post last February (11 February 2014) — did you originally publish it back then? If the post was published publicly before, a new email notification won’t go out if it is republished by changing the date on the post.

Yes, this is the post. I’m pretty sure I only published it privately or scheduled it to be posted later. I do this for most posts. Jeff

Thanks for confirming that, Jeff. I’m checking with our team now to investigate why that email notification didn’t go out, and I’ll let you know once I have an update!

Hi Jeff,
We checked our records for that post, and it was published publicly last year — that’s when the notification email was sent out for it. (Even if it was only public temporarily, that’s enough to do it.)
If you want to make sure a notification goes out for the post, I’d recommend copying the contents of that post into a new post. You can even backdate the publish date on the new post to March 17 if you prefer. Then, you can delete the old post, publish the new one to replace it, and the notification will go out for the new post.
Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that!
