Followers from free wordpress to self-hosted wordpress account

  I found this old forum post (https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/moving-wordpress-followers?replies=154) on having old followers from the free wordpress account to a self-hosted account but I was unable to understand how to perform this myself…

  I have Jetpack installed and configured but am still getting followers on my old site (allisoninwellnessland.wordpress.com) where I am no longer posting and currently using allisoninwellnessland.com

  can anyone help me get these followers transferred over & have any tips on how to stop followers from going to my old site?

  As you have installed and activated the JetPack plugin http://jetpack.me on your WordPress.org install, and posted the relevant URL(s) into this thread, Staff will do the transfer of both subscribers and stats for you.   To confirm, you wish to move the followers from allisoninwellnessland.wordpress.com to
  allisoninwellnessland.com?

  Also do you wish to both move followers and merge your stats, or do you want to leave the stats separate?

  Your WordPress.com subscribers and email followers have been transferred as requested. I have also merged your stats for you.

  Please note that any WordPress.com followers who opted to receive email updates will need to re-subscribe again on your new site through the Jetpack signup box, otherwise they’ll only see new posts in their Reader. Non-WordPress.com email subscribers will continue to get email updates.

  You might think about setting up a Site Redirect for your WordPress.com site at allisoninwellnessland.wordpress.com to send your site visitors to your new domain. Otherwise, people will still be able to subscribe on your old site.
