Followers have gone ????

  I recently decided to migrate from WP.com to Wp.org however I canceled my service with Bluehost as I was having problems with migration of date. I had a domain name and WordPress site for many years, however since I’ve moved back to my original WP.com domain, all of my followers are gone. Is there any way I’m able to get them back?

  The blog I need help with used to be known as quitesimply now its called https://stanleyandbearblog.wordpress.com/ and the domain I was using for WP.org was stanleyandbear.com

  Hi @jenhammer62, so the new site is https://stanleyandbearblog.wordpress.com/ and the domain you need to pull followers from is stanleyandbear.com, correct?

  Normally I’d be able to migrate followers from the old site to the new one for you (or you could do it on your own with these steps), but I don’t see the old site on your account, nor can I find any connections for it. It looks like you may have deleted the connection.

  Thank you for replying, yes I’ve now realised that when I deleted the account with Bluehost yesterday morning, I’ve done so without reversing the migration of my followers. ( I had previously followed the steps you’ve linked above).

  So I’m presuming there is no way of recovering after inadvertently deleting – well I knew I was deleting the new site, I guess I simply incorrectly assumed my followers would have remained on my original .com.

  If you do know of anyway of recovering that’d be great.

  It was likely more when you deleted the Jetpack connection. I looked around to see if I could recover it somehow, but didn’t have much luck. Did you have it connected via a different WordPress.com account?

  Got it, yeah we can’t transfer much from deleted sites. If you run into a similar situation again, just remember to ensure everything is transferred first, then delete if needed. Best wishes!
