Followers I never knew

  Ok, I’m slightly confused:

  I can see my list of subscribers.

  Then there is a bunch of followers that I never knew about but they appear on top right in a drop down. Are they using a different tool to “follow” my blog. Is it that follow button on bottom right? I’ve never used that button. Does it function the same as suscribing to a blog?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  A subscriber and a follower of your blog is the same thing. The drop-down menu might be your notification which tell you when someone follows, comments or likes a post. I’m assuming that the follow button on the bottom right is the same.

  But followers never show up in subscriber list, right?

  Followers and subscribers are the same thing so they should. But some may not be shown if they aren’t WordPress members and are just following/subscribing your blog via email.
