Followers Issue
-
Hi, I recently moved my blog to self host. I imported all my posts and followers too. I had 300 followers in my WordPress.com account. But when I am posting a new blog in my self hosted website my followers are not getting email notifications. Is there any way I can resolve it ?

Hello there,
Many thanks for reaching out.
Once a site is moved to self-hosted WordPress, it would then be considered a separate entity to WordPress.
What you would need to do here, is connect the self-hosted site to your WordPress account, using the Jetpack plugin.
You can then use this follower migration tool here: https://jetpack.com/support/subscription-migration-tool/ to move followers from one site to the other.
Both sites would need to be on the same WordPress.com account.
I hope this helps.

I have installed the Jetpack plugin and used the Subscription migration tool. That’s how I got my old subscriber subscribe to my site. However only people who subscribed through email they are getting post notification but not those followers. So my problem still is how do I notify my followers about new post ?

Hello there,
If you’ve followed the follower migration tool, then both both email subscribers and followers, should be moved.
The followers should be getting a notification as before, when a new post is published.
Can you see the followers in WordPress.com for the self-hosted site?
Many thanks in advance.

Yes I can see the followers. When I followed this from another blog account, I get to see posts on my timeline as well. But I am not receiving email when new post is published.

What is the URL of the self-hosted site? I do not see any connected to the account from which you’re posting here.

Hi there,
I see 297 people subscribed to that site. To further help you troubleshoot this issue please log in to the WordPress.com account that that site is connected to and contact us.

Hi I did contact and they said it is something your hosting provider can solve. Then I contact bluehost and they said they can’t do anything, WordPress will help. So I am stuck in between.

I need you to log in with your other WordPress.com account (the one that hiswordatwork.com is connected to) and post on this thread so I can further assist you.
