Followers listed under stats…not able to access

Under my site stats followers I have 43 but can’t access the other pages. Another stat said 14 but it is more like 43. Why am I not able to see the names of followers. Thank you.

Hi there,
You can view your followers by logging in to your Dashboard, clicking on Site Stats, and then scrolling to the bottom and clicking on the link for the number of followers. Make sure you notice that there are different stats for both Email and WordPress.com followers.

Note that if you previously saw a larger number, that can sometimes be if you had a social media network connected, such as Twitter or Facebook. Your followers there will be counted too, but are removed if you disconnect the account!

Hi and thank you for your reply…I have 43 followers on World Press and that is what I am trying to access and not able to.

Unfortunately for this account the only followers that we have records for is the 14 which I directed you to. When you say that you were on another page which was saying you had “43 but can’t access the other pages,” what page were you on? If you could send me a link to that page, maybe I could see what is going on here.

Hi and thanks for your help. I went on home page…site stats.. my followers and 43 came up. I was only able to see the three from bloggers and the other pages, there were three or four wouldn’t let me access…weird. I can’t imagine that 43 followers just stopped????

Just went on again and said the same thing.. site stats my followers (43) and there are three pages and can’t access any…just two names come up…word press followers 43 and email 0Hope you can help and I thank you kindly.

While you’re viewing the page that is saying that you’ve got 43 followers, could you please send me the URL that is showing in your location bar?

Hi again, There really is a problem…I have several people who tried to follow and were blocked. What causes that? They can go to the blog but they can’t follow and still wonder what happened to the 43? Wish I knew the answer…Thanks..

Now I can’t access at all…just a circle keeps going around when I go on the link you sent me. What could be the problem? Thanks

OK…finally able to get link and this is the story. On Word Press.com…following stats..site stats…under My Followers (43) and email followers (O)…but can’t access the 43 followers.

I’ve not been able to find the page which you’re talking about.
Screenshots can be a huge help in cases like these – can you please take a screenshot and then upload it to your Media Library and then paste the link back here so I can better understand the issue? Please make sure you include the location bar of your browser.

A bit technically challenged to do as you ask, but someone is coming over tomorrow to help and I will be able to send you the information.. . I go to wordpress.com… hit support and then on the link following. Then I see My Followers (43) …three pages and that is what I am unable to access… will send you the information tomorrow and hope you will then be able to help me. Many thanks.

I did some more research, and I think that what you’re seeing is our support documentation that is about the My Followers page.

Where it says that there are 43 followers, that is how many followers whoever took that screenshot had.
Does this look like the page you were looking at?

Yes that is the one because I have more people who receive the blog then the 14 emails that I see. Thank you for checking on this and why does it come up as My Followers? I have comments from people who aren’t on the email list as well. As I said, not too technical. I appreciate the time you are taking to look into this. Then you don’t need me to send you any other information ..I was never able to access the pages. I appreciate the time you took. Were there people who were getting the blog in March who elected not to receive it anymore?

The page that you’re referring to is a screenshot, which means that it is the view of another person’s “My Followers” list, which looks the same as yours but has different (and in this case more) subscribers. The only place where you can see your actual list of followers is here:

It is quite normal for you to get likes which come from people who have not decided to follow your blog. They can enjoy one or more of your posts, but they may have not chosen to get notifications whenever you post a new article.
You may have had additional people who subscribed to your blog in previous months, however I’m not able to see how many subscribers you used to have, only how many you currently do.

Thanks and it makes sense now…alot of people who check the blog do not get emails. I thought all the people who spoke to me about various posts were getting emails and they go on when they feel like it. So, thanks for all your help…
