    Hello!

I recently just switched from .com to .org and I’ve seen other threads that say the Happiness Engineers can transfer my old followers (both email and internal wordpress readers) to my new blog is this correct?

    My old blog is http://www.blondersideoflife.wordpress.com
    My new blog is http://www.blondersideoflife.com

I did have my custom domain active for the wordpress.com site as well so I don’t know how that plays into things.

    Can anyone help me?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hello kelsnsher,

I have tagged this thread for a Staff follow-up. You may subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they reply and please be patient while waiting.

    WordPress.com to self-hosted site
If you are getting ready to go to a self-hosted WordPress site and would like to bring your subscribers with you, we can also help you with that but you’ll need to do a bit of preparation first:

You can also do it yourself by following these steps:

1.On your self-hosted WordPress site, install the Jetpack plugin, connect it to WordPress.com with your WordPress.com username, and make sure the Subscriptions module is activated.

2.Optionally, add the Jetpack Subscriptions widget to your sidebar.

3.Optionally, on your WordPress.com site from which you’ll want to transfer your followers, post a notice telling your site’s followers that you’ll be moving, and that their subscriptions will be going along with you. This is because, while your email subscribers will continue to receive email notifications of new posts as before, WordPress.com followers will only see new posts in the Reader. They will not receive email updates unless they subscribe to receive those on your new site, which they can do if you’ve added the Subscriptions widget.

4.Once Jetpack is connected and ready to go, and you’ve informed your readers about the upcoming move, you can transfer your subscribers right from your WordPress.com user account by following the steps outlined in the Subscription Migration Tool guide.

    Hope this helps. :)

    Hi kelsnsher,

I’d be happy to help you with this, or you can use the steps that elzrjose mentioned to do this yourself.

Before I do anything, I just want to make sure you know that after your followers are moved to your new blog, your WordPress.com followers will only see your new posts in the Reader. If your WordPress.com followers would like to receive email updates, as well, they can subscribe via email on the new blog.

Please let me know if you have any questions about that! And if you’d like me to go ahead and move those followers for you, just let me know and I’ll take care of it for you.
