Followers not receiving email when I post new blog post

Followers tell me sometime they receive an email of my post when I add a new one, but sometimes they do not get an email. This happened to me today, 5/30/2020.

I tapped the gear icon and I turned on the button to email me new posts immediately. It was not on before. Does that do something just for me, the site owner, or does that do something for all followers?
However, I also use a second email address that is not known to wordpress within my site. It is registered as a “following” user, and the emails have arrived at that email address intermittently. Got an email of my 5/23 post, did not get one for my 5/29 post.

That setting is for you as a WordPress.com follower of the site. Every WordPress.com follower of your site have a similar setting in their Reader interface where they can enable/disable email notifications.
Someone who follow your site via email only won’t have access to that setting, as they’re not following you via a WordPress.com account.
Can you please provide the email address of someone who should be receiving the notifications, but didn’t receive the 29 May one? Type the email address on its own line, and it will be hidden automatically so only staff can see it.

I checked the junk mail folder and the 5/29 email is not in there. -

That particular account is subscribed to the site in the Reader, but not to emails.
They can switch on emails at https://wordpress.com/following/manage

The following email is a follower for email, and did not receive an email of my 5/29 post, my last post.

It did receive my 5/23 post via email, so it did work actually more than one time. But it also missed at least twice, it did not receive my Long Term up date on 5/20. -
Our logs show we did email the post, https://richinvesting.wordpress.com/2020/05/30/rising-on-expectation-of-poor-earnings/, to that hotmail address on 30 May (I don’t see any post on your site on 29 May), and the email was accepted by their email server.
If they did not receive the email, it’s a problem on their email account’s end, but we definitely sent it.

I signed into that hotmail account (its Microsoft Outlook) and looked for options on the “Inbox”. It had the option “Focused” highlighted, and the other option was “Other”. With Focused being highlighted, I had some of my posts but not all of them (that is inconsistent and odd). I switched to the option called “Other” and all of the emails that should have been there were in fact there. Thank you for your help, this issue is completely resolved! Rich
