Followers not showing up
-
Hello.
I have recently started receiving email notifications about new followers joining my blog. I believe these are all spam email accounts. For example: <(email visible only to moderators and staff) just started following you at http://futureheritage.wordpress.com. They will receive an email every time you publish a post. Congratulations. >
I have received fifteen such emails in the last month. However, when I go to the Settings > Configure > People > Followers these new followers they are not listed there. (I do have five bona fide Followers listed there and one Email Follower.)
Why are they not listed here? I want to delete these spam followers.
I hope you can help. None of the other posts on this topic offer the advice I need.
Tim

Hello there
Are these new followers using outlook email addresses? If so there are many current forum threads on this issue. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic-tag/outlook-com-spam/
Staff replies in this thread https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/spammy-follows-from-outlookcom-email-addresses/#post-3092975
This is a known issue and is actively being worked on. Staff are removing the followers directly from your site so you don’t have to. If you wish, until this current wave of spam followers is over, you can turn off email notifications by changing your settings here: https://wordpress.com/me/notifications Click the arrow on the right and uncheck the box next to Site follows > Email.
Let us know if you have any other question about this.
