Followers Numbers Jumped Overnight

For the blog I am co-producing, http://www.pastortimseals.com, the widget states that this blog now has 726 followers. That number was 5 yesterday. What happened? Is this true and if so, where are these followers listed in my Stats page?

You’re probably on Freshly Pressed. That’s the biggest driver of WP.com subscribers there is.

But, there isn’t a corresponding change in VIEWS of my blog. There were only 9 views. How could I have 726 new followers and only 9 blog views in a 24 hour period. Thanks for helping me understand because I am new to blogging….JAM

That’s easy: they are following Freshly Pressed in their reader, and through it found your blog. Blogs viewed in the Reader don’t count as Views.

FYI I’ve been here seven years, have 12 blogs, and not one of them singly nor all together do I have 700 Followers. Congrats!
