Followers unsubscribed

Other WP users have complained that their followers have mysteriously been unsubscribed from their blog. I love WordPress and want them to love it too. Is there an answer, a reason I can give them for why their followers are being unsubscribed? Is there some setting they need to change to keep this from happening?

Please be clear on the fact that names are not required for subscribing for receipt of blog post updates, and that subscribers control the frequency of receipt of the same. All that is required of subscribers is exactly what was required for you to register an account and that is a valid email address.
Many of us choose not provide our personal email addresses to anyone but family and close friends. We use throw away email addresses so we don’t suffer being spammed with unwanted information.
Can your provide examples of email addresses of followers you refer to as being unsubscribed?

Yes! Thank you. I have subscribers who frequently report being unsubscribed. They must re-follow me frequently. I would love to see this issue addressed.

True, we are not notified when someone chooses to unfollow our site. But when someone who has been with you for two years keeps having to click “follow,” we become aware they are somehow being unfollowed. Also, I’ve received a few emails and comments asking me what was up.
I also have two people who have been following me for months who show upon my follower list as having just arrived in the past week, so they have clearly had to re-follow again recently.

I just reported this issue internally and our team will be looking at what is causing some of your followers to unsubscribed from your blog. As @Timethief mentioned, it will be helpful to gather as many usernames as you know who encountered this issue.

My username is Dosirakbento. I am experiencing the same kind of problems both with following and needing to resubscribe to blogs I follow, and followers of my blog who need to resubscribe.

Thanks, I see there were a few blogs that you had to follow several times. If you also have usernames of users who were unsubscribed from your blog, please provide them and we’ll dig into this issue for you.

It happens a ton to a lot of our blogs. I am not sure why Timethief acts like this is news to her… she has “helped” on this “issue” before.
