Followers Vs. Email Followers
-
Hi everyone,
In My Site > People I have four options. These are ‘team’, ‘followers’, ’email followers’ and ‘viewers’.
I have 13 followers but no email followers. What does this mean? What is the difference? I thought those 13 people get email notifications when I post. Is that right?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @mrhillmusings ,
Email followers are folks following your blog without a WordPress.com account. They would subscribe via the ‘follow bog’ widget on your site, and receive notifications of new posts via their email.
Followers have WordPress.com accounts and will see your new posts via their Reader.
In essence, they are all people following your blog, they are just receiving notifications of new posts differently.
Please let me know if you need more clarification, or additional help.

Thanks so much for your reply. It really helps. One more question: do Followers (the ones with WordPress accounts) also get an email notification?
-
Followers just see your new posts when they login and view their Reader at WordPress.com.

Hey y’all! You may see the newer topic I started a couple minutes ago, but I saw y’all discussing a similar topic right now, so I came to post. How can people without an account email follow? Please describe in detail and as soon as possible. Thanks SO much!

WordPress followers can get email notifications if they so choose, or they only see posts from their subscriptions in the reader. I have email notifications on for some of my favorite blogs and the rest I just have in the reader.
