Followers vs. email followers

  I have just noticed that I have “followers” and “email followers.” This leads to my question: do the ordinary followers get email notification of my posts? If not, what’s the point of having them?

  Hi Bob, Followers are users of WordPress.com and they decide how they want to receive notifications of your new posts. They can choose to read them in the WordPress.com Reader, get an email notification or even read it in the notifications tab in the Admin bar.
