Following Blog but not getting notifications of new posts

  I’ve been following a blog and I have also downloaded the app and added the blog to my list of blogs following. I have or thought I had enabled notifications for when a new post hits or any comments are added but I am not getting those notifications in my email or via the app. Any suggestions on what’s wrong in my settings as it’s important that I get the updates as they happen
