Following my blog via email does not work

  When people try to sign up as followers for my blog, this message shows up: “Your subscription did not succeed, please try again with a valid email address.” That is highly annoying as I don’t seem to be the first user with this kind of problem. Apparantly, you have not been able to solve this problem since 2011. Looking forward to your reply.

  Thank your for your quick reply. That’s the right site. Unfortunately, two different emails were not accepted from two different computers. Then I tried to sign them up. It did not work, neither was my own email adress accepted which I tried to sign up with in order to test it. I definitely double-checked the spelling as did the other two guys.

  Heya,

  Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Could you please send over the email addresses which you’ve been trying to enter? I’ve tried a couple of different variations of my own and they keep working, so I’d like to see if there is something unique about theirs.

  Ok, we are now kinda public. How can I send them to you in private? Sorry, am still quite a newbie with WordPress. Just saw older forums in which users complained about the same problem. Are you aware of the history of this problem? Admittedly, another follower cound sign-up via email. Still, there are adresses which are not accepted and were not mispelled.

  If you enter the addresses as normal email addresses here, they will be redacted automatically by our system except to my view, however if you are concerned about privacy, I will send you an email directly where you can send them to me.

  And there was indeed a case of this issue occurring a while ago, however the bug which was causing it has been fixed. When it happened, ALL email addresses could not be entered on certain sites as opposed to only some, so it appears to be a different issue.

  Please stand by for an email to be sent to the address which we have on file for you.
