  • Hi –

Are you asking about the sites you are following or the folks following your site?

    Liz (Happiness Engineer)

To answer your question, it is sites I am following.

Here is what happened. I thought I wasn’t getting update on a blog I was following so I entered by email address to get updates and got the message shown below. It is strange because I never opted out.

“The email address has opted out of subscription emails.
You can manage your preferences at subscribe.wordpress.com

Enter your email address to subscribe to this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email. Your email will be kept private and not used for any other purpose.

    Email Address “

When I click the link “subscribe.wordpress.com” I get the following showing:

    “Subscription Management

    Sites (61)
    Comments (1)
    Settings
You can now manage the blogs you follow in the WordPress.com Reader.”

    This says 61 sites.
When I click on “WordPress.com Reader” I get the following showing:

This lists 32 sites. Somehow last night I was able to get to a screen that let me see additional pages listing more sites, but I am not able to duplicate that.

    In summary:

    1. I think I am following 61 sites, but can only see 32
    2. When I sign up for a site I already follow, I get a message saying I oped out when I didn’t opt out.

    Thanks,

    David Schoessow

  • Hi there,

It appears that for a large number of site you’re following, you signed up to follow those sites via email while NOT logged into your WordPress.com account. That’s why they are not showing in your Reader list. You should be receiving email notifications from them, but they won’t appear in your Reader feed.

To follow those sites in the Reader as well, go to this page:

    https://wordpress.com/following/edit

In the box at the very top, type/paste the URL of a site not appearing in your Reader list but that is at subscribe.wordpress.com, and click Follow.

You will need to check them one by one, though. We don’t have any way to do this automatically – it actually took me quite a bit of digging to figure out what’s going on as this is a very rare occurrence :)
