Follows sites

  In the manage followed sites section I see a small heading that says sites:1 indication that I follow 1 site but bellow I have not sites that I am following. I recently deleted my site, does my WordPress account automatically follow my site or is this something else. My account was originally following 4 account the I unfollowed them, the issue was that I did not recall following them. Does WordPress ask people to follow some site when they create an account or are they one that are automatically followed when you create an account.
