Font appearing in all capital letters
-
Hi. I have a free WordPress account. When I type my blog, the font appears in both upper and lower case letters. However, when I go back to read the finished product, all the letters are upper case. How can I change this? I tried customizing, and changing the font but that did not work. Please let me know if there is a way to correct this.
Thank you.

Hi Maria,
It looks like this is a CSS feature built into the Cubic theme that your blog uses (I assume you are talking about https://speechlanguageskills.wordpress.com/). It is possible to change the headers from being uppercase, but it involves using Custom Design, which only comes with Premium or Business plans.
You can preview what your blog would look like with lower case headers by going to Custom Design, pressing the “Try Now” button, clicking “CSS”, and pasting in the code below. It’s a free preview, and won’t apply to your blog unless you purchase a different plan. Here’s the code to paste in:
h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6, .comment-author, .hentry div#jp-relatedposts h3.jp-relatedposts-headline, .hentry div.sharedaddy h3.sd-title, .no-comments, .page-links { text-transform: none; }Here is a link to read more about Custom Design:

Ok…thanks for the info! :) I will check it out.
If I choose to use a different theme instead of Cubic, rather than upgrade to a plan with Custom Design, will I have the option to make the font lower case?

You’re welcome!
And yes, finding a different theme is definitely a great option! There’s a good chance that another theme exists that has the qualities you liked in Cubic, without having uppercase titles.
What’s cool in WordPress is that when searching for themes, you can preview how it looks on your blog, but also, you can press the “Try & Customize” button in the top right hand corner, and see what customization options they have before you officially switch it over to your blog.

Thank you so much! I went ahead and found a different theme with lowercase font. It looks much better! I appreciate your sharing the info…it was very helpful!! :)
