many times I write in a word doc for another program. In my copy and paste process I loose the format I had set, which I had set for a purpose. I chose classic editor, yet the editor decides randomly when to dump it into the block editor…this doesn’t make sense. it changes my font style and size on a whim…I’m about to dump wordpress and go with another option. I spend to much time trying to manipulate this program.

Microsoft Word is a fine word processor for producing documents to be shared or printed. As a web publishing tool, however, it is a little less than ideal and produces very messy website output.
The same applies when using Google Docs, OpenOffice, or other word processors, and because of this, we strongly encourage our users to use WordPress.com post editor to create content and formatting on the fly.
If you wish to continue to use Word, you can try the “Classic Block” and the “paste as plain text” option as explained here, but please be aware that not all formatting can be successfully transferred to a website, as Word was not designed with this use in mind.
