I have just purchased the custom upgrade for fonts but…….. it is of no use.
What I wanted to do was be able to change text size easily….
also, do I have to use the pre determined stylesheets? paragraph, address, etc.. They make no sense at at given that the view when entering a draft post does not look like the preview or final post… I am sooooo not happy with this as well. HELP.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can follow the steps in this guide on how to easily adjust font size and style:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-fonts/#adjusting-font-size-and-style
also, do I have to use the pre determined stylesheets? paragraph, address,
Could you please describe this question in more detail?
-
thanks, I cannot seem to alter the paragraph, address, preformatted, etc… These are pre determined.
also the typeface used in the drafts section (ie when I am writing a blog) is different from what actually previews so it is impossible to do a layout in real time as such. -
What paragraph, address and preformatted are you referring to? Could you please point out exactly where you expect things to
You can read more about Custom Design at http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design
Do you also encounter this issue in a different browser? for example Firefox or Internet Explorer?

The font will only be visible in the preview and on the actual blog. The post editor only uses a standard font.

in the new post area. the options for the text are paragraph, address, preformatted, etc. These are the stylesheets I can use for text I want to insert to post
It isn’t just heading and body text. There are others.. can I change these? -
I assume you want to change specific things within your post. The Visual Editor allows is a content editor that allows you to easily create, edit, and format your blog content in a view similar to that of a word processor. Please take a look at this guide to learn more about this: http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/
Please let us know if you need any further assistance!

thanks but not quite..
2 issues1/ the visual editor – is different from the actual post but you have said that unfortunately there is nothing that can be done about this.. not great to have to keep previewing.. the formatting is all different in ‘actual’
2/ the actual style sheets called parag, etc – can I change these pre formatted rules? I don’t like the font etc used in them.

It’s called the visual editor because you don’t have to use text (HTML) to compose your post, but can use a more familiar text editor interface. However, the view in the editor should not be considered a live preview of the site. If you are unsure how a change is going to work out when you are editing a post, you can click the “Preview” button to see what it will look like on the site, without actually publishing it.

Those formatting options are set by the theme you use (so it is in the theme’s CSS stylesheet) and while they are not something you can edit directly in the site’s Admin Dashboard, you can use CSS to override the theme style with your own.
Is there a particular formatting choice you want to modify? Perhaps I can help with that.

thanks for your help
the CSS I just cannot seem to master…. it is not straightforward. I have upgraded to the custom design but it is not easy…
I would like to change these stylesheets
thanks again

I can understand that, and am offering to help. Which element do you want to change, and how?
Happy to craft a bit of CSS to get you started, and explain how you can tweak the sample I give if you want to experiment. If you have a bunch of formatting elements you want to change (like the majority of them) then it may be better to choose a different theme (one that has formatting options that are “closer”) as a starting point.

lol…. can’t you just sit next to me and do it!!
…. will go through it and explain what I want over the w/e
thank you so much again…
I should be able to do.. I am a graphic designer using all Adobe stuff but css gets me blank.. -
Generally speaking (as a designer who taught himself CSS) it’s not so bad once you get used to it.
Here are some things that are easy to change in text elements using CSS. These are
- text color
- font size
- font style (bold, italic, all caps, etc)
What is an example of one of the things you are trying to change, and I can get you started with a code snippet and how you can experiment with it.
