Have you changed the language in which you blog in?
In order to specify the language the blog’s being written in, you have to go to Settings -> General and change the third option ‘language’.
Maybe that changes something.

I usually write in georgia 13, copy the text from a microsoft word editor and paste in the “add new post” box, and then post it. It has always worked well, but now, when I do it, the text which appears in the box is converted from georgia 13 to times new roman 12. What can I do to solve the problem? my blog id is michellaub.wordpress.com

You are pasting from MS Word, at least in the first link you provided. In the second link, it appears like you did not paste from Word. The second link reflects that actual font that the theme’s designer used.
Copying and pasting directly from MS Word, will always in the end get you because Word does not really speak Web and is not even vaguely internet standards compliant. Some people get by with it for a while, but in the end it always bites them.

http://faq.wordpress.com/2008/09/09/bringing-content-into-wordpress-from-microsoft-word-screencast/If you are using Windows, then I suggest that you download the Window Live Writer blog client which is free. It works very much like Word, but unlike Word, WLW does speak web, and speaks it fluently. With WLW there is also no need for copying and pasting since it uploads your posts directly. It will allow you to change fonts and sizes and those changes will make it perfectly onto your blog.

Thank thesacredpath . I always copy and paste from MS Word , but before I got the article like the first link; but now, though pasting from MS Word, I can’t get the article like the first link, but the second. (sorry for my English).
I will study what you indicate . Thank you very much.

I have no idea why it stripped out all the junk MS Word code on the second link you referenced, but looking at the source code for that post, it is clean.

The problem has just begun today . Now I try Window Live Writer which you proposed. It works like this :
I let the font Time New Roman 14, but it gave 12 .
It lose more time for posting this way.
Thanks alot.

In Vietnamese, the link is like that . Internet Explorer can’t read . I deleted it to replace the new one :
TỜ NEW YORK TIMES CA NGỢI « SỰ ĐIÊN RỒ » CỦA ĐỨC BÊNÊĐICTÔ XVI
But Firefox can read the link in Vietnamese !!!! I don’t know why ?

Yeah, I clicked both and they go through to your post ok in FF.
As you say, tsp, that’s Microsoft!

One last thing to check. Go to settings > reading and under “Encoding for pages and feeds” is it set to UTF-8?

I wonder if anyone’s able to help me with my font problem. I know next to nothing about the technical back end of wordpress. my partner and have set up this blog.
it was all going well in the beginning when we had really short posts. it used to read like this http://afripopmag.com/page/7/
as our content needs have grown we now run full-length features which require the ‘read more’ facility.
i notice though that ever since we’ve started to use it, the fonts have gone all over the place. for example on the front page now http://afripopmag.com/ not one post looks like another.
as you scroll down the page the fonts become bold and then the spaces between the letters and words get bigger and bigger. i don’t know if there is any relation.
i was reading some of your prior posts and yes we do copy and paste from word. but we have always done from the beginning.
please advise us. -
Pasting from MS Word will always end up getting you in the long run. MS Word does not speak “web” as brings in all sorts of junk code that messes things up.
If you must use MS Word, use the “paste from Word” button on the lower toolbar so that wordpress can properly remove the junk code.
http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/11/09/why-not-to-use-word/
http://faq.wordpress.com/2008/09/09/bringing-content-into-wordpress-from-microsoft-word-screencast/First thing to do is go to settings > writing and select “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then click “save changes.”
The reason that the posts have become bold is that you have an open “strong” tag in your post “The Listening” which was caused because the more tag was inserted into a block of text that had “bold” assigned to it. Open that post for edit, select everything in that post, and then click the “remove formatting” button on the lower tool bar and then click “update post.”
Also read through this blog post, http://onecoolsite.wordpress.com/2008/08/21/avoiding-the-more-tag-woes/ , and read through it for issues with using the more tag.

According to the W3C validator, you have 49 errors on your main page. My suggestion is that you open each post on that page in the editor, and select everything in the post and then click the “remove formatting” button on the lower toolbar and then save the posts.
If I were you, I would do the same with all of your posts since I’m seeing evidence of MS Word junk in a lot of other posts as well.
