Font saving theme
-
Hi. My blog is in the Forever theme and I changed the fonts to Exo 2 and Lora. It ‘saves’ but does not publish them. It saves and publishes all my other changes and I have tried it on 3 different web browsers but every time those are still listed but it shows different fonts on the blog when I reopen the page/customizer/preview. Anyone tell me why??
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
You’ll have to upgrade to use custom fonts. You’ll be able to try them and preview them, but they won’t be effective until you upgrade (more info about premium plan here: https://store.wordpress.com/plans/)
For more information about custom fonts, check this link: https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-fonts/ -
-
These Google fonts can be used free of charge on any themes.
-
Additional information re: fonts in individual posts and pages
If you are referring only to the text inside of your posts and pages you can make some changes without an annually renewable upgrade.
For changing font families, colors and size in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page by coding into the Text ie. HTML editor see http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/07/11/formatting-text-pt-5/
For changing font colors in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page using the #4 icon (Select text color – change the text color) in Row 2 the Visual editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2
To display the second row of icons, first select the toolbar toggle icon at the end of row 1 and click it. https://i0.wp.com/en.support.files.wordpress.com/2009/08/kitchensink.png
Then see here https://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#text-colorHowever, if you want to make any font changes to blog titles or widget titles then you need the premium upgrade bundle that includes the custom design upgrade in it.

I do not think they are premium or custom fonts as Exo 2 and Lora are listed in the regular drop down bar of the customizer to choose fonts. It says it saves but won’t publish it.

Exo 2 and Lora are listed in the regular drop down bar of the customizer to choose fonts
Thanks for confirming that for me. I’m off to use my test blog to try and duplicate the issue. I will return after I have done that so please “hang in there”.

I’m back and I had no trouble at all using those fonts on my test blog loaded with the Forever theme. I also see those fonts on this site https://themadgoode.wordpress.com/
Maybe you have a browser related issue and cannot see the changes.

Thank you so much for looking timethief.
I could use the fonts with that theme too but am, however, shocked you were able to see the fonts when you loaded your test site again or left the customizer and went back to it. I have used three browsers now (firefox, chrome, safari) with the same result. It even loads right then immediately switches, still listing the correct fonts but looking like the default. I am also shocked that you could see it on my site as I just opened it on my cell phone (which I haven’t done before) and it looked as it does- the default fonts or whatever that thick ugly font is.
Can anyone also tell me why it does not say WP admin at the end of the menu when i click “my sites”? It does for my friend and she can change her icon image through that. -
In a very odd turn of events, I just clicked the X next to the font name to send it default (which I’ve done before) and it went to Exo 2… It is not the default font, no idea what’s going on but exited Customizer and went back and it saved… Lora is not the default however but it seems to be saving that now as well just tried it again. Shocked and confused but going with it!! Hope it saves the base font as well. Thank you all for your thoughts and efforts!
