Font size changes in post…why?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello all. When I insert an image into a post, the font after the image seems larger and slightly different. Anyone know why and how to prevent this? Thanks in advance!

    This invariably occurs because of an unclosed tag somewhere. Are you copy/pasting from Word or somewhere else on the Web?

    No, not from either. I type directly into the New Post box and the images are pics uploaded from my computer…. :-/

    I see evidence of paragraphs being copied and pasted either from the web or somewhere else since the wordpress editor has no font sizing capabilities (other than entering the code yourself). As an example, in your latest post, at the beginning of the paragraph that starts, “The restaurant is owned and operated…” there is this font size declaration:

    <span style="font-size: 13.2px;">

    In the post, “Relaxing in Redstone” at the beginning of the first paragraph I see the same code I’ve listed above.

    Again, the wordpress editor does not have font sizing built into it so there is no way for it to add that on its own.

    I see it further down in “Relaxing…” as well.

    If you copy and paste from the web, use the paste as plain text button on the lower tool bar in the editor and it will strip out any code that can mess things up.

    Thanks for trying…..I haven’t cut and pasted anything so it really doesn’t make sense. Oh well.

    @mtplate
    Will you please check your blog to see if this setting is enabled?
    Dashboard > Settings > Writing > Writing Settings > Formatting
    ___ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically

    Enable this and then scroll down and click “Save Changes”.

    1. copying and pasting content
    As thesacredpath has said above wordpress.com does not change fonts. The code has to come from somewhere for that to happen. He has isolated the code for you that you must remove from the post by editing and delting it in HTML mode. If you are not composing your posts in the wordpress editor and are composing them elsewhere then copy and pasting content into posts and pages this can and does result in the issue you report.

    2. imported content
    If you have imported content from another blogging platform into your blog this can and does result in the issue you report.

    3. If you chose to change the font yourself using the HTML editor and used incorrect code to do so this can and does result in the issue you report.

    If none of those scenarios is the case, then I recommend contacting Staff > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
