I just want to change my font. Is it really that hard? I’m about ready to go over to google.

That depends. You can change fonts and font sizes on a post by post basis by wrapping your post/page content in a DIV tag (in the HTML tab in the editor) with some inline CSS as follows:
<div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 120%;">all your text and paragraphs here</div>If you want to change it on a permanent basis then you would have to get the Custom Design upgrade.
One note on fonts: You need to use fonts that are common on all computer platforms as that is where the browsers will pull from. If the person visiting your site does not have the font you specify, then their browser will substitute the standard serif or sans-serif font they have built in.
One of the great things on the Custom Design upgrade is it includes full access to the Typekit online web font library which gives you tons of high quality unique fonts to use on your site and for most things it is just a matter of selecting the font for the basic elements you want to change. Really simple to do.
