Font Size/Type in Post Edit Window

  • Unknown's avatar

The theme I’m currently using has a large and very readable text body font in the published blog, but the font size in the WordPress editor is very small. Is there a way to change the type and size of the editor font? I’ve looked…but don’t see a way. Thanks.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hey,

is this what you are looking for?

Some themes are entirely WYSIWYG in the Post/Page Editor, but SemPress is not one of them.

You can try your browser’s Zoom settings to increase the Editor page overall, including the font size in the text box.

@skillcode: no, I was looking for a way to increase the font “size” for text when in “Paragraph”.

I think JustJennifer hit on the answer (thanks). I’m probably going to have to change themes as there are several problems with it and the author is not responsive at all on his own blog about it.

    @larrymcjunkin-You’re welcome.

FWIW-the theme you are using on retiredgeek.net is a free theme which has been highly adapted for use on WordPress.com; I would be surprised if the theme author is supporting it.

Having said that, I do note that you have the Custom Design upgrade, so if you have questions about theme customization of SemPress, best to post them in the CSS Customization forum here.

I do have the Custom Design Upgrade, but the only reason I bought it was to be able to change font size/type in any blog theme. That is working just great…it’s only the font I see in the editor that’s too small.

The theme has some other issues, like when I log into it (live) I should see the “Edit” button so I can go directly to the post edit window in the WP editor (like any other them I’ve used)…but that doesn’t work. And a couple other quirks. I will take these to the CSS Customization forum and see it someone can help, though they’re not really CSS issues.

Even if you don’t see an “Edit” link on the Post or Page itself, you should see the option to Edit from the Admin Bar (when logged in). It’s one of the options in the dropdown menu to access the Dashboard.

I’ve switched one of my test sites to SemPress and the link to Edit a post or page is at the bottom of each post next to the Category. Since obviously I cannot see it on your site, is it possible you’ve inadvertently hidden it (display:none)?

My bad…I just looked at a post there and see it’s on the bottom bar below posts. I was looking for it where my other theme had it. Thanks!

The other problem I have with it (and it’s nothing to do with the Custom Design Upgraded). When you just go to “Customization” and change the color of hyperlinks, it displays everything in the new color in PREVIEW, including the Menu page names, as they are are also hyperlinks. I’d be interested to know if you experience this, also.

But when I save the change, on the actual blog the menu names are still in the default black/grey color. Other than that, I really like the them as my target demographic is seniors and it’s an easy-to-read and clean theme.

…Actually meant to insert “I’d be interested to know if you experience this,” AFTER the third para in my last post.

Not having the Custom Design upgrade limits my ability to see what you are seeing, but it should save. If it is not saving, I would suggest first trying the browser troubleshooting tips here. http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/

If you’ve tried those suggestions, including trying with a different browser, and it still doesn’t work, then please post back here and add a tag for Staff assistance (modlook).

And just to comment on what you said earlier

I will take these to the CSS Customization forum and see it someone can help, though they’re not really CSS issues.

, the CSS Customization forum is only for CSS-related questions. If you have other questions, then please post them here in the Support forum. :)

Jennifer, the problem I explained I had even before I added the Custom Design Upgrade. When viewing your theme, just hover over WordPress in the upper left bar and click on Customization to view the customization options built into the default theme.

There, click on “Colors” and then hover over each circle at the top until your mouseover displays “Links”. Click that button and you’ll see your color options, including changing to a color of your choice for hyperlinks.
