Fonts

I’d like to be able to change style, color and size I use on my blog. Why is this not an option? Sure bold and italic are there but come on. The ability to customize my words should come standard with anything that goes on a blog, fonts are one of the most important things when it comes to print and on-line media.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Change font in header image
If you have a theme with the customizable header option, you can change your customizable header on your wordpress.COM at any time, and use a free font or one you purchase of your own choice to place your blog title and tagline on the image.Changing font style on posts or pages either post by post or page by page
We wordpress.com users can change font styles and colors on our posts and pages, a post and a page at a time. http://en.support.wordpress.com/editors/font-size-color/Changing font style and color throughout the whole blog
(1) Take note that wordpress.com blogs have the otion of using TypeKit fonts.
Appearance > TypeKit fonts(2) We cannot access the templates in our wordpress.com blogs and edit the underlying php and html as we are all blogging on a wordpress mutliuser blogging platform and all blogs with the same theme are sharing the same templates. However, if we choose to pay for a CSS upgrade and undertake CSS editing then we can change font styles and colors throughout the entire blog. This upgrade is NOT recommended to those who do not have CSS editing experience as there is no Staff support.

Ypu are new to wordpress.com and are comparing apples to oranges (blogs on the wordpress.com multiuser blogging paltform to self contained blogspot blogs It’s important that everyone who posts to this forum comprehends the differences between wordpress.org and wordpress.com and that there are two selections on can make, wordpress.com Staff have gone to great lengths to provide clear explanations in two places.
I recommend that you read these two entries linked to below as you may find your needs will be better met by hiring a web host and downloading free software for self hosting a blog from wordpress.org
(1) There is an explanation posted in the sticky posts at the head of this forum https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/please-read-me-first-before-posting?replies=1
(2) On the front page of the wordpress.com support documentation we find a link to and even more comprehensive explanation of these differences http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Lastly I disagree with part of your statement above:

What’s important to know is
(1) We can all change the size of the font we are viewing on any web page in our browsers using keyboard shortcuts. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/01/19/how-to-change-font-text-size-in-your-browser/(2) Regardless of which fonts you may wish to choose to jazz up your blog with your browser and your visitors’ browsers can only use the fonts installed in the same computer. If a reader does not have a specific font installed on his / her computer, then the browser will determine which font is displayed. There are a very limited number of fonts (in English/Western languages) which are common for most operating systems/computers/browsers. Obviously not every visitor to your blog will have the same fonts installed in their computers, so you can immediately see that problems will arise unless you choose to use common fonts. (3) Screen resolution sizes also vary and these days our readers may be viewing our blogs on desk tops macs or PCs or on iphones etc. and the way our blogs display varies.
