Fonts and Sizes
-
I am new to WordPress. I was considering a mirror of my blog from blogger.com here on WordPress, but the fact that I have no easy control over fonts and sizes is depressing. It seems like this would be an easy addition to their editor. Why is wordpress so nice for everything else but lacking in this feature?

Hello there,
(1) Mirror blog? Unless the blog in question has the visibility set to “provate” so it’s not being crawled by search engine spiders and indexed you are creating duplicate content. That can result in a Google penailty that will negatively impact the blog where the content was originally published.(2) When it comes to corporate decision-making, I’m sure we will agree that the volunteers at the bottom of the chain do not have answers to “why?” questions.
They have no role to play in the description making process and as they offer their services free of charge they are not paid to be apologists for corporate decisions made. I suggest you take your question directly to Staff because we can’t answer it. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

There are three ways to change fonts on wordpress.com blogs and as you point out above none of them are point and click. None are easy.
(1) We can use the HTML code editors and change font size and color post by post and pages by page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/editors/font-size-color/
(2) We can use TypeKits fonts.
Appearance > TypeKit Fonts(3) We can purchase a CSS upgrade.

I don’t know why we have the version of TinyMCE editor that we do in WordPress. It’s not the only version. This version of it does have Font Family and Font Size in the array.

So I think the only whay you can get an answer to your question is to go directly to Staff. -
