Fonts – Gridspace Theme

    Hi there,

    I need some help with the fonts on my blog as they all look very different right now.

    1. The primary menu and top menu fonts look different. How can I make the top menu font look like the primary menu font so they both look the same?

    2. How can I change both menu’s to be in sentence case and not uppercase.

    3. How can I make headers not be in Uppercase, but sentence case and bold? For example where it says, CHECK US OUT ON INSTAGRAM.

    4. How can I make the welcome text smaller and look consistent with the text on my side bar and footer? It looks different to me right now.

    Thank you for your help!

    Have you used the Gridspace support doc at https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/gridspace/support/?

    Also note Need extra help? Visit the Gridspace support forum.

    Have you consulted this support doc? https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/

    If you have not purchased the Premium upgrade bundle which includes the custom design upgrade, then note that no changes you try out aside from those such as Custom Background, Custom Header, etc. which are stated on the theme description pages in the features column (right hand side) will be visible to visitors.
    https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/gridspace/

    See here for details on purchasing the annually renewable Premium bundle http://store.wordpress.com/plans/premium/ that contains a custom design upgrade required for CSS editing. See:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/editing-css/
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-fonts/

    You do not need to load the design tools unless you have the Custom Design upgrade. All of these functions can be accessed from your dashboard – without loading the custom design tools – no upgrade required.
    Appearance > Header
    Appearance > Background
    Appearance > Theme Options (applicable only to some themes)
    Settings > Reading (set a static front page)
    Site Title and Tagline > Settings > General

    If you are using the preview mode for the Custom Design upgrade some of the settings in that mode will save but they won’t show up on the front end unless you purchase the upgrade.

    To go back to the free options, go to Appearance → Themes → Customize → Colors and click the “exit the preview” link in yellow at the top of the panel on the right.

    If you have purchased the required upgrade then please use this link https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization#postform so you can copy and paste your text into a thread that will appear in the CSS Forum where you will get the help you need.

    NOTES: If you are referring only to the text inside of your posts and pages you can make some changes without an upgrade.

    Changing font families, colors and size in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page by coding into the Text ie. HTML editor. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/07/11/formatting-text-pt-5/

    Changing font colors in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page using the #4 icon (Select text color – change the text color) in Row 2 the Visual editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2

    To display the second row of icons, first select the toolbar toggle icon at the end of row 1 and click it. https://i0.wp.com/en.support.files.wordpress.com/2009/08/kitchensink.png
    Then see here https://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#text-color

    However, if you want to make changes to titles or widgets then you need the premium upgrade bundle that includes the custom design upgrade in it.

    Hi there,

    1. The primary menu and top menu fonts look different. How can I make the top menu font look like the primary menu font so they both look the same?

    To make the top menu font the same as the main menu, and make it sentence case, add the following.

    .menu-top-menu a {
        text-transform: none;
        font-family: arvo-1,arvo-2,"Helvetica Neue",Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;
    }

    2. How can I change both menu’s to be in sentence case and not uppercase.
    3. How can I make headers not be in Uppercase, but sentence case and bold? For example where it says, CHECK US OUT ON INSTAGRAM.

    Add the following to change the main menu, search and widget titles to sentence case.

    #access .menu a, .menu-search-by-location-container a, h1.widget-title, h3.widget-title {
        text-transform: none;
    }

    4. How can I make the welcome text smaller and look consistent with the text on my side bar and footer? It looks different to me right now.

    To change the font size of the intro, add the following and adjust the size as desired.

    #site-intro {
        font-size: 2.5em;
    }
