Footer

1. How do I add a footer to my website? I tried to add footer widgets – not sure how to do this. I’d like contact info at the bottom of every page of the site.
2. And how do I change the text that appears in the bottom of the page? (“Customized Twenty Twelve Theme. Blog at WordPress.com. “)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

1. The Twenty Twelve theme has sidebar widgets areas, but no footer widget areas, so that’s why you are not able to add a footer in that theme.
2. The footer credit is required to be displayed according to our terms of service:
http://en.wordpress.com/tos/Note that even sites hosted through our VIP program, such as the TED blog, display a credit to WordPress.com in the footer.
(See the bottom of http://blog.ted.com/ for an example)Let me know if you have any additional questions about this.

Thanks for your response. Was hoping there was some way to add in a footer widget. May need to move this to wordpress.org.
I do have one more question: unable to get extra line breaks, both by hitting carriage return in visual mode, and typing <p>….</p> and
in html mode, don’t hold. Seems buggy. -

Well, there may be…sort of. It should be possible to hack in some custom CSS with the Custom Design upgrade to add in a footer area. I would suggest making a post on the CSS Customization forum here:

Lots of good advice there and knowledgeable people. They will have advice.

Can you give me the exact set of steps you are doing (and what you want to see) for this? Example:
1. Type “blah blah blah”
2. Press return
3. Press return
4. Type “gibby gooby”
5. Publish
6. Expect to see two lines between “blah” and “gibby”, only see one.
