Footer Customization in Premium Plan
-
I am currently considering upgrading to the premium plan on WordPress. I am using the sketch theme. I am wondering if I can add a customized footer to this theme using CSS? With social media links, contact information etc. As it stands, it only lets me add social media links in a social media menu at the bottom. Can I get a secondary menu put at the end? Does CSS enable this? Also, where can I add social media symbols? Currently they only add to the end and the colours clash with y colour scheme. Hope to hear from you soon! Help much appreciated.

Hi, the Premium Plan does not allow editing of the theme php script files, which is what would be required in order to add an additional menu to the footer of your site.
Although you cannot remove the existing WordPress.com and theme footer credits, you can, with CSS add a copyright to the footer. The existing footer credits can also be restyled to fit with your overall theme design as well as long as they remain readable. If you are wanting to add links to the footer, such as an email link or something like that, that is not possible with CSS. CSS is a styling document used by browsers to position and style the elements of a web page and cannot be used to add functionality or HTML, such as links.
Some themes have footer widget areas where you could place a Custom Menu Widget, but Sketch does not.
