Footer display
-
Hi all. I’m trying to figure out how to get my footer to stretch all the way across the bottom of my site when viewing on a high res (widescreen) monitor. Here’s a link:
Right now when I maximize my browser window, the footer icons appear to jut up into the middle body of my site. I’d like one uninterrupted horizontal footer border regardless of screen resolution. Any ideas, or am I stuck with this because of the theme I’ve chosen? Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Not what you ask about, but is there a reason you have a 1.5 mb picture of you (scaled to small)?
That large a picture slows loading time down, better practice is to scale the picture to get the file size down to around 100k. Since the picture is scaled down, the extra pixels are not used or needed.

Thanks for the suggestion, auxclass. I have also noticed the slow loading time on the picture and would like to change that. I’m still kind of a newb to all of this, so I’ll have to read more about scaling the picture down to 100k.

This I figured out the scaling! Down to 74K now. Thanks.
Anyone have any ideas about the footer?

You can’t. As far as I know the only way to get rid of that would be to purchase a premium theme.

No, unless you want to have your blog suspended you agreed to the Terms of Service when you signed up for WordPress.com that:

Hey-I’m having a really tough time with customized CSS (it’s brand new to me)- how do I change the footer text in my blog? Mine currently says the standard wordpress stuff- how can I edit this to input my own information to be visible in the footer of every page?
-
Oh- I apologize, I did not see your previous post. I did in fact purchase and upgrade and I’ve noticed many other individuals with my theme have altered their footer- that is why I ask. Thank you.

You can change the way the footer looks but it must be easily readable. If you see blogs where the attribution is missing, then report them for violating the ToS.
I don’t really understand why you’d want to remove the credits? For one thing, they are way down on the bottom where most folks are not going to be looking at very much. For another, you don’t go around scratching out the author’s name on books, removing the musician’s name from whatever medium, cutting off the artist’s name on paintings… It’s funny, because you see folks wearing clothes with brand names all over them.

I once knew a person that took the emblems off of cars, sadly the cars were not his and he went to jail for vandalism
Some people just will not give fair credit for someone’s work – which is stealing from that person or company – some people have no problem stealing I guess

@willjohnson46, you were probably looking at sites that are not setup here at WordPress.com.
