Footer Menu

Why is it that on a laptop I can see my “Home Page”, “About” and “Videos”, but I cant see it on a tablet or cell phone? There’s a tiny search button on the right. Hard to see and I’m worried that when the site is accessed by the smaller devices that they wont click on it to go to next pages. Thanks, Daniel

I am using the classic wordpress. Thanks a lot, Daniel

  • Hi Daniel,

While that site is not hosted with us, what you’re seeing is normal. Most WordPress themes hide the menu behind a button like that – usually referred to as a hamburger button – on narrower screens. This is because there’s not enough space for the menu otherwise, and it looks much better than forcing the menu to display over multiple lines at the top of the screen.

People who usually browse websites on their phones should be familiar with this, as it’s pretty much the standard practice on well-designed mobile websites. But you should be able to force the full menu to display by adding some custom CSS code to your site, should you prefer that.

You can ask in the support forum for your theme over on WordPress.org for help with the code needed to do this:
