Footer Not Appearing

    I am building my site now (not active) and my footer is not appearing on any of my pages. I have published pages, posts, and made a menu for my footer, I have attached my menu to my footer widget and it still is not appearing. How I can have my footer appear? I want to make sure it works before I activate my site. I am using a free theme if that makes a difference.
