Footer text

It’s not really a problem, but I am wondering if there is any way to change the footer on my blog. I have not problem crediting word press and the theme designer, but right now it says: “Get your free wedding website at WordPress.” My site has nothing to do with weddings and that is distracting. It used to say something like “powered by wordpress.” Can we go back to something basic like that?

    Hey there,

I don’t see this text on any blogs currently associated with your account.

The footer text is specified by the theme you’re using. If you’re not satisfied with what’s displaying, you’ll have to switch to a different theme, I’m afraid.

    Best,
    P.

thanks. the blog i’m talking about is http://www.lindagruberacupuncture.com

i’m trying to paste a screen grab of it, but it won’t work. the thing i’m surprised about is that this is a new message. i guess maybe themes change their message?

  • Thanks for replying with the blog URL.

I’m not seeing the “Get your free wedding website” text in the footer at this time, and you can see a screenshot here. It looks like we’re experimenting some things on our end, and the message won’t be permanent.

If you’re seeing the different footer credit more often than not, please let me know and I’ll be happy to take a closer look.

That’s funny because what you sent is what I used to see. Now I see this: Get Your Free Wedding Website at WordPress.com. Theme: Forever by Automattic.

I’m glad to know others may not be seeing that and hopefully it will go away soon! :-) Thanks for your help.
