Footnotes from Google Docs to WordPress

How can I retain footnotes when copying and pasting from Google Docs to WordPress?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi dbsmith000,
Copying and pasting content from Google Docs to a post or page won’t preserve all the formatting but it may be possible to keep the footnotes by embedding the document:
I noticed dbsmith000.wordpress.com hasn’t been updated in some time, which suggests you are working on another site. Can you send a link to the one you are working on?
Thanks!

Hi, gemmacevans,
Thanks for the reply. I will see what embedding looks like.
My website is https://www.scienceabbey.com/
I realize now this forum is for the blogs, so not the right forum to ask about the website.
There are apps that merge Google Docs with a WordPress blog, but none seem to work with a WordPress.org website. I may in the future just write from my WordPress site.
BTW I never typed “The blog I need help with is dbsmith000.wordpress.com.” That was automatically generated without my consent and I was surprised to see it appear after I had posted!
Thanks, again.

Hi –
That’s correct. This forum is for WordPress.com sites – as you know, these are different from sites that use the WordPress installation.
You’ll want to visit https://wordpress.org/support/ to check in with our community volunteers about this inquiry. Best wishes :)
