Footnotes Plugin

    Are there any footnotes plugins included with the free WordPress plan? I’m working on a blog website for my class and need to add footnote citations to the text in my blog posts but I am unable to upgrade to the business plan.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi Clairegentryblog, unfortunately, it is simply not possible to install a plugin without upgrading to the business plan.

    However, your other best option is to simply type the footnote citation after you’re done writing. You can then highlight the citation and click “insert/edit link” button inside your WordPress post editor and link it up with the original source.
